We fundraise throughout the year to pay for the upkeep of these statues. Funds raised are matched by the Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce for a maximum of $10,000 each year. History of DinoArts:
In the 1990's, a local attraction called Prehistoric Park that was home to many cement dinosaur structures was closed. Later on, the dinosaurs in this park were gifted to the Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce and moved to various locations around town. In 2011 the DinoArts Committee was formed as a Chamber subcomittee to 'plan effective placement, upkeep, and addiitons to the dinosaur structures in Drumheller.' In 2012, DinoArts incorporated under the Alberta Societies Act as the Drumheller DinoArts Association.
Currently, the Chamber owns and insures all of the dinosaurs in the DinoArts collection, and provides bookkeeping and administrative support to the group, while DinoArts fundraises for upkeep and new dinosaur projects.
